Description
This simple 4 column Herringbone-Stitch rope is great for many necklaces or pendants that need a medium thickness beaded necklace.
Once set-up, the rope works up rather quickly and can be completed in a matter of hours. Materials and parts are easy to find (11/o Seed beads, 11/o Delica beads, and a few accent beads of your choosing.
Each herringbone segment uses two sizes of beads which creates a slight bend to the piece. The intervals add interest and allow beadwork sections to twist and shift with the wearer, providing even more dimension and interest in the piece.
Create a lovely necklace to support a favorite pendant or create a long looping rope that can be drawn over the head as its own masterpiece. The segmented areas allow you to get as decorative as you like and further enhance the overall look of the rope.
Instructions include step-by step written details and colorful diagrams that are easy to follow. You can even scale the pattern to smaller diameter using 15/o and Delica beads or 8/o and 11/o’s.
Overall width of the rope is slightly thinner than the diameter of a standard Bic pen, has a square-ish profile, and fits most pre-made bails.
Project is appropriate for beaders with some bead weaving experience or those looking to perfect their Herringbone technique.
